What is Foundation 61?
Foundation 61 provides a live-in community which offers hope and direction for people dealing with life controlling issues. These issues are often, but not exclusively, associated with the use of drugs and alcohol.
Foundation 61 was inspired by the vision of the Old Testament prophet Isaiah for a new world order in which those excluded from mainstream society could once again find their place.
“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from the darkness the prisoners.”
The members of Foundation 61 try to make this vision a tangible reality by providing an individually focused rehabilitation program for people with life controlling issues.
Foundation 61 provides a short to medium term residential program including full board in a safe and secure residence with on-site staff offering 24 hour support. Our holistic approach to individuals aims to support participants on their journey of recovery. We provide a variety of resources and life skills to assist individuals wanting to rebuild a broken life.
Most of the members of Foundation 61 are attached to the Churches of Geelong. Many of these Churches have entered into partnerships with us to support our mission.
